Both armpits feel very tender. They feel sore to touch and raw. I have not changed anything recently. No new deodorant or soap. What could this be?

  1. We have glands and lymph nodes around our armpits.  Your body could simply be fighting an infection.  On a more serious note,  some forms of breast cancer grow in the arm pit area.

It would be a good idea to go to the doctor.

  2. If you notice a lumpy feeling, this could be your lymph nodes. They will swell and become painful when trying to fight off nasty infection. Feel the area under the rear of your jaw, just to either side of your windpipe. If this area is swollen as well, you have some kind of infection. It would be impossible to tell you what is wrong or what type of infection you have without blood tests. So, if you didn't rub them raw playing sports or something similar, this is a pretty serious issue you need a doctor to examine. Good luck!
