  1. be aware that one cannot "join" SF, you have to go through the Special Forces Selection Process, in which you are selected by the soldiers within the unit, 90 percent of soldiers don't even make it this far, join as an infantrymen, excel in training, go to ranger school, excel in training, go to airborne, air assault, and any other schools your unit will send you to and excel then apply for the special forces selection.  Even if you enlist as an 18X is don't not guarantee you SF it mearlyguaranteess you the opportunity to go to the selection process, if you make it that far.

  2. Fitness - Be able to keep going when you really want to stop.  Like say during a 30 mile ruk march.

Here are some duties of a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant:

Going behind enemy lines to recruit, train and equip friendly forces for guerrilla raids

Clearing mine fields, both underwater and on land

Carrying out demolition raids against enemy military targets

Employing warfare tactics and techniques in infantry operations

Conducting offensive raids or invasions of enemy territories

Maintaining proficiency with all foreign high-density light and heavy weapons

    Evaluating terrain

    Selecting weapons placements and sites

Assigning targets and areas of fire

Reading, interpreting and preparing combat orders

    ( Got this from Goarmy.com)

All I know is that the differnce is groups as far as like 1st, 5th , 3rd etc. is the area that they deal with.  For example 5th group focuses on Iraq and 3rd focuses on Afghanistan.

    Hope that helps!
