Arriving early with French visa?

I am a US citizen getting my visa for France to study long term. I want to go early to travel some (only in France) before my studies. Does anyone know the terms on this? am I allowed to do this?

  1. hallo,

    France visa is not required for citizens of United States for a stay up to 90 days.

    thus before getting your visa you can freely spend 3 months in France without visa.


  2. i don't think that it will be any problems ,you are not from a country of the black list ,you have a visa ,that is ok

    if you want verifie by the french ambassy or consulat

  3. You can go there for fun/travel/whatever for up to 90 days before your visa starts and be fine =]
