http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, after it was revealed that the attacker could make a move out of the club, should the right offer be made for him.
The North London club followed the Dutch international, prior to his move to the Camp Nou, but missed out on signing him as he moved to Barcelona.
However, with the player set to be made available for a minimalistic fee of around five million pounds, the club is looking to try and capture him this summer.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan are also interested in landing the player, but the promise of first team football and a chance to develop as a footballer.
The Gunners are also interested in landing the player, because they feel that bringing in the Dutchman, could help convince http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 to commit his future to the Emirates.
Van Persie recently went on to reveal that he doesn’t want to extend his stay at the club, but with a year left on his contract, his mind could change at any point in time.
Afellay had previously indicated that he was interested in trying to make a name for himself at Barcelona, but with a number of players coming up the ranks and with his injuries proving to be a problem time and time again, he might just be on his way out
of the club.
Should Arsenal land the Dutch international, they would have a versatile player, who can play on any flank and in the middle of the park.
At the same time, given his age, he would be able to stay at the club for a number of seasons in the future. Despite that fact, the biggest pull factor to making a move for Afellay is the fact that he is up for grabs for such a low price.
The North London club have been known to try and land players for a bargain, but with him being priced at around five million pounds, surely the opportunity is far too good to waste.
Nonetheless, it is now a wait to see just where the Barcelona player ends up and if Arsenal manage to sign him or not.
