Question:

Art Ideas?

Starting a new art project this week and need some inspiration! The project's title is 'structures' - basically this can encompass anything, but it's been divided into four sections: buildings, machines, human form and natural world.

I have to create a sketch book, and eventually a final piece, which can be in any form.

My strengths lie in realism, but I'm keen to experiment with new mediums/concepts etc. (I usually stick to pencil or acryilics, but for this project I am free to use any medium available to me)

What would you do and why?

Thanks,

Lucky :)

  1. why not do it on one area? and make it like, i dunno, an ecosystem of 'structure'?

perhaps a park? with the buildings etc being placed in diferrent mediums with one overall piece of the actual whole place being the final 'structure'?

  2. if it includes abstract i would prob do something showing realism of human form with an abstract personality to it. I do appologise if may have confused you.

  3. Could you make a human body out of things from nature? Sticks, pebbles, flowers, leaves, fruit...etc.

  4. I would choose human form because that is what I find most interesting.  I would then start to think how I could expand on 'structure' including the following:

Look at other art that focusses on the human form and look at how that art is structured...

How is the paint 'structured' on other art? Freud does one brush stroke before cleaning the brush and doing the next. Other portrait painters are much free-er...

How do we structure ourselves? Plastic surgery, hair styles, fashion....

How is a baby structured? Look at fertilisation, embroys, foetuses...

    Good luck!
