Art Major Question, ?

For my art major i have chosen the topic Journey;Youth

I'm struggling for ideas

What are some ideas, thoughts, symbols relating to youth

And what might be a good way to express these through a canvas painting.

P.S i love colour.

What about finger painting?  and maybe have a link between the journey of a youth growing up, starting from preschool to about 18, an adolesent. If you loooove colour, i suggest looking into the genre "pop art" they used bold, bright dashes of colour, which was very contemporary. Try make your work seem very contemporary. Maybe, if you want to go to extremes, why not use 'lipstick' as a painting medium to suggest 'growing up' or a 'girls journey from child to adult' The artworld is always excited about promoting new materials. :D
