  1. The one thing that Aruba has and Barbados doesn't is it's located outside the hurricane belt.

Aruba is a Dutch island and Barbados is English island. Both have beautiful beaches and wonderful local residents. I think Aruba is more Americanized and the beaches are much more crowded.

The sunsets in Aruba are the best I have ever witnessed.

Aruba has casinos and I don't think Barbados has gambling.

I think Barbados is a prettier island. Aruba is very arrid and dry. The one thing I'm not crazy about in Aruba is the contant trade winds. You need to put tons of sunscreen on constantly because of the wind burn.

Other wise, I think it's as good and worth checking out.

    Enjoy)

  2. Yeah, I'm from Barbados...and Aruba kicks our ***. Seriously.

  3. I have been to both.

I personally think Aruba is better.

In my opinion its better becuase: the sunsets are the best I have ever seen ANYWHERE, there are enough activities for people of all ages- gambling to snorkling, to craft activities to all the water activities.... the resorts tend to be nicer, and its not as built up.  Its not like you are living practically on a desert, becuase there are necessities such as a grocery store, restaurants, ect....but its not over crowded and people everywhere.  The locals seem to be pretty content with tourists and dont give them the cold shoulder either.

But thats just my opinion. I think a lot has to do with the hotel/resort you stay in. The American chains that are just "satisfactory" in the US are REALLY nice in Aruba- such as the Marriot and the Raddison. The best hotel I have been in though was the Hyatt there. Excellent!

    Hope you decide to visit!
