Are they going to allow Palin and the other Republicans lie and get away with it. There was very little substance and bunches of lies in that speech last night...yet now she is a being touted as the best thing since sliced bread. Where is the Democratic response??? I can not take 4 more years.....

  1. Y'know, I actually feel a little sorry for you guys... Losing all the time...

But I think a single 4 year period of democratic control will be the end of the country as we know it.

Besides, even Hillary fans are saying Palin's competent.

And what lies are you talking about? Stuff they'll do for the country? They haven't started running the country yet, how can they be lying?

  2. everybody lies. every freakin politician lies. your precious obama lies too. its just a big race to the finish line and political people are bloodthirsty people, they gotta win, so they will ALL lie.

this happens every year, and guess what, the democratic people will STILL lose, thankfully.

move out of this country if you dont want to be run by a republican, then you will see that they are the best party choice.

  3. Only if we allow it.  Speak truths, and keep the faith.  Drive the truth home and stay off the bridge to nowhere.  Women don't have very many rights on that bridge.

She did lie about the Bridge to Nowhere.

"Palin said Alaska’s congressional delegation worked hard to obtain funding for the bridge as part of a package deal and that she ‘would not stand in the way of the progress toward that bridge." Ketchikan Daily News 9/2006

Then she said: "In fact, I told Congress — I told Congress, "Thanks, but no thanks," on that bridge to nowhere."

And no, I'm not being "vicious".    I'm just a strong, Alaskan woman.

Matthew Scully wrote the speech she delivered.  Matt is GWB's speech writer.

  4. Obama's campaign staff is crapping peach pits right now. People have already talked longer and more positively about Palin's speech than they did his.

  5. As a Republican I am very proud; The American working class has produced this outstanding woman. She can lead us all through a changing World. Democrats should not worry; she will lead all of us well.

  6. I'm Independent, but I am voting for Obama and h**l YEA I'm worried. Every since Palin came out about her daughter's pregnancy and supported it, many stupid women who have experienced the same thing related to her and gave her nothing but praise. It's a d**n shame. I thought they wanted people to stop talking about her teen's personal life but yet they decide to vote for her just because it happened. They are really trying to make Obama look like he's the DUMB black man!

  7. Maybe you should move to China and then complain.

What "lies" are you talking about exactly? Check your facts first before you give an opinion of people "lying." That's all the democrats can come up with.

  8. Democrats, be worried!

    McCain will win!

  9. I feel like this was a last minute, sleezy move by the Republican party.  Were they planning this all along?  How are we suppose to come back at them, if all of a sudden they've got a woman dressed in white.  But anyway, the question becomes how fast someone can pull the ghosts out of her closet.

  10. I nor any democrat I know are worried. I didn't hear anything in her speech last night as to what she will bring to the table as VP.  Most of it was talking back to Obama and Biden and how she is a hockey mom.

  11. I can't take it either..The RNC really upset me last night.

I'm ready for the debates--->It's on and the speech writers won't be able to help anyone. Every man and woman for themselves.

  12. I am an Independent voter.  I wonder why you are worried?

How do you know they are lies?  Do you have proof?  I thought ALL politicians lie.

I would encourage you to be more open and listen to both candidates and not judge or assume since it is not your party that they are lies and no good.

I wonder why there even has to be Democrats vs Republicans in the first place.  The person needs to be for the people at all times.  I hate politics.

  13. No, I am confident that America wants a change.  Obama is that change NOT McSame.

  14. As a Canadian I am very worried about world affairs, and I am stunned as well as my American friends that the people can vote for a woman with viewpoints such as hers. Its the first time in my entire life that I am so troubled and feel this feeling I swear of total doom with the thought of McCain and Palin getting in. What affects your country will affect the world and God help you all. She is backwards and against 100% of what women have fought for. What happened to the people in America. I am shocked. This is very very troubling. She with her policies would have had her butt kicked right out the door by Canadians. We are very open people. We are very much behind global warming, we are very troubled about the threats of extinction against wildlife, she isnt, in fact she is very much for mass killings of wolves bears etc. She will bring h**l to you all. I am praying for the country to wake up. She is indeed perhaps what Nostradamus has predicted the person that will provoke the next war. God help you all. She scares me and she scares everyone I speak to.

  15. After Palin's SPEECH OF LIES

YES if enough Americans Fall for it.

  16. No - I'm not worried.

McCain is not Presidential material. Obama outshines him easily.

But Palin is going to run into problems quite quickly. Within a few days - there are so many issues around her that contradictory.

She's going to hang herself on her own dogmatic positions.

    She's a fighter - but not a thinker.

It's clear they chose her in a rush  -  the problems will follow.

To answer the question of lies - Palin's position on the Bridge changed. She's spoken with 'forked tongue,'

  17. i am with you, just hope voters check tha facts, and do not let the smokescreen and wedge issue, and single issue voters give us more of the republican big business govt.

  18. I've been worried all along because I knew that there is an element in this country that simply will not allow a Democrat, let alone a Black Democrat get into the White House.  Now they come up with this woman as a pitbull to sit by the McCain door and harp about Obama's perceived lack of experience and that the Presidency is not for "on the job training", while giving interviews saying that Palin will learn foreign policy as she goes along. Isn't that on the job training????

  19. NOPE - but puzzled as to how the Repubes can possibly think Palin - a certified religious whack job could ever be considered a serious VP contender!!

  20. Don't worry.  The response will come.  Timing is everything in politics.

  21. I'm not worried. McCain wins at being the dumbest candidate. I really thought when Obama chose Biden that he might be in trouble since McCain waited. I figured McCain would have picked Romney which would have hurt Obama in a lot of states he won in the Primaries, but instead basically just handed the election to Obama. I thought Obama had handed it to McCain for not picking Hillary but now I see that McCain wins at being worst decision maker. The good thing about Palin: I was originally going to sit this one out since Hillary was taken out of the race, but now that Pain is in I will be voting for Obama/Biden to make sure we put an end to the ridiculousness of the far right distorted religious Republican Rule.

  22. We are all extrememly worried about ANOTHER FOUR YEARS!

First of all, it is pretty obvious that Sarah P___ (what's her name?) was chosen as a pander to the Hillary Democrats. The intelligent ones, however, will not be duped by the GOP.

The GOP's support of big business/old money at the expense of the common American has enabled corporations to ship many of our good jobs overseas, so the executives could save a few $ for stockholders, and get their bonuses, while the rest of us have to worry about having a job.

The Republicans believe that a woman does NOT have the "right to choose" whether to have an abortion.

The McCain/GOP war in Iraq has cost us $3 trillion!! (that's $10,000 PER PERSON!)  It has not found WMD or bin Laden, cost 4,000+ US lives, and had no justification! I could have used that $10,000 back in MY pocket where it belongs!

It is ironic that Republicans criticize Democrats as tax-and-spend liberals, yet this Republican administration has done more to increase the US' federal deficit than any other administration in history (they are the "New Democrats"!).  The US now owes $10 TRILLION (or $30,000 per person);  do they think our debtors (mostly China) are going to forgive that?  Do they think the voters will not remember this in November?

The GOP would rather expand drilling, even though it's known that oil will run out in the near future, INSTEAD of doing the logical thing which is to explore alternatives.  The GOP is pro-oil because they are pro-big oil.

    OUST THE GOP IN NOVEMBER!!

  23. what have you endured over the last 4 years honestly....

    i bought my first house

    had 2 children

    have health insurance

got a 10,000 raise over the last 2 years

are you trying to play on our fears, it wasnt that bad get over it

and yes you should be worried, republicans are going to win

  24. Notice that the praise was for a good speech - I didn't see it but have read the transcript.  Let the media and insiders start to pick apart things... and give the Republicans their week in the spotlight.  The true test will be in debates, and in the real discussion of _how_ things would change withe each administration.

  25. As a Democrat, I've decided to vote for McCain/Palin because I'm afraid of Obama/Biden's definition of "Change".

  26. Of course they're worried, you can tell by the viciousness of the attacks against Palin.

  27. I totally agree.  I can't believe that everyone's praising her, saying her speech was a home-run, and she did so well!  She didn't SAY anything!  I STILL don't know anything about her, except that she clearly can't do the job!  All she did was talk about how brave McCain is, and take low, cheap blows at Obama all night.  There was absolutely no substance to her speech!

  28. No but to respond we must avoid looking like sexist pigs. Afterall they love to be hypocrites call on Obama for playing the race card but lets go ahead and play the gender card. It's the republican way.

  29. PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere."

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."

PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.

  30. I'm not worried but I don't understand anyone who can listen to that speech and think that it was good.  It sounded like the head of the PTA talking about bake sales and telling cheap jokes.

  31. No.  Personally, I thought it was a mediocre speech (although not many agree with me).  I think Palin came across as mean-spirited, and this fits in with her background.  I sensed that she could be personally vindictive. Oh well, we see what the polls show in a week.  That will tell the tale.
