I'm 13 years old and i was wondering

at my age how much push ups should i be able to do ?

I'm about 5 foot 3 or 5 foot 4.

I way about 110 pounds.

But i can only do about 50 push ups.

At once without stopping. Is that good?

If not how much should i be able to do and how can i increase the amount of push ups i can do thanks.

  1. its good

  2. If you can do 50, with your chest touching the floor and without hunching your back, then that is really good.

  3. Thats pretty good.

At my school the max. you could do was 75 and few people got to that.

  4. well id say thats pertty good. cuz im 13 and and i can only do about 30 or 40

  5. my bro is 13 i unno how much he can do but my friend said when he was like 11 or 12 he did 70. i can do probably 27-30 ( im 11)

  6. well i think its good im 5.5 14 and i can only just do 25 before stoping so yeah your doing good

  7. d00d, wait till you are 15 or close to that to be serious about these kind of stuff.

if you get into lifting and stuff at your age, your growth will decrease.

  8. thats really good! i can only do like 28 i think but im weak! haha

  9. If you can do fifty at age 13 you aren't doing them right I would bet...in the Marines your chest had to get down to within the size of a fist to the ground to count as one and you had to lock out at the top...try doing them like that and see how many you can do. If you can do 50 like that you are in great shape...when I got out of Marine Boot Camp I could knock out 100 but now can only get like 60...just keep at it...most avg guys off the street would be lucky to get 25

  10. that sounds good. if you want to increase the amount

i would recommend doing 4 sets of 30-40. or until you feel like your arms are going to fall out then stop. cross your arms [sometimes muscles can cramp up] and rest for 1 min then do another set. and increase the reps

  11. DANG! That is great especially at your age! I can't even do 10 real push ups and I'm two years older! Don't let the media think that you aren't doing enough, that is a lot. Don't overwork yourself.

  12. it's very good some people i know who are like seventeen can only do thirty push ups

  13. well i'm almost 13 and i weigh a lot less than you and i'm almost 4inches smaller than you and i can only do like what 20 and one of my friends has the weight and hieght of you and he can do 30 push-ups so yeah i'd say your really strong!!!! CONGRATS

  14. That's better than me!

According to my school you'd be "A Physical Education Role Model"

  15. I'm 12 and one time when I was nine I did 100 push ups. But I was in pretty intense soccer practice and I think you're doing good. Right now I'm pretty fit in swimming, can do several laps without stopping, but it really doesn't depend on your age. It depends on how much you practice and how much confidence you have. The harder you work, the more push ups you will be able to do :)

  16. That is very good. Average is less than 20 for a guy, less for a girl. If you still want to increase, than do weighted pushups.

  17. That sounds pretty good. The police department only requires about 47 pushups in 2 minutes time (as the max)so maybe you can work on timing yourself.  Just work on maintaining that pace that as you get older and your body develops.

  18. Its good... I'm 15 and i can't do 50 at once. Maybe its because i weigh 170 but w/e.

The way to increase your amount is to either keep doing them every day or to go to a weight room and Bench Press.

  19. Sounds good to me... I can do about 10 and I'm the same height as you are and 16 years old. I'm fit otherwise but just can't manage the push-ups. Good work!

  20. I think that's great! You increase the amount of push ups you do, by consistently doing them everyday, add more when it gets too easy. Add in increments of 5-10.
