Atlantic crossing ?

I would like to cross the atlantic in a boat. I am told there are 100s of people do this each november, where can I find a kindred spirit, or are there any web sites, please no ex tanker engineers or rocket scientists, I need positive answers please or anybody who's ever done it....thankyou

If you mean in a sailing vessel, every year there is the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, whereby a lot of sailing yachts cross from the canaries to the bahamas and back.

If you type into google you should be able to find more than a few boats that are advertising for crew. the fee you get is usually the price of a plane ticket back. you dont need to be experienced as most boats will take you on without, but you will be a deck hand, doing chores around the vessel, cooking and cleaning, as well as taking your turn on the watch.

one thing to be brutally honest about, what sort of person are you, will you honestly get on with four or five other people for the entire race without someone trying to throw you overboard, and the opposite considering you do get more than a few completely inbred idiot owner/skippers and other crew...
