What is the best way to attach fake leaves to a sweatshirt without them falling off? Its a cheap sweatshirt so I will do anything to it. (I want to make a very easy and cheap camouflage suit)

  1. Well, it really depends what you will be doing with the suit. It sounds like you will be hunting or moving around in it.

You could use fabric glue, but I don't think that will hold very long. Do you know how to sew or could you get someone to just "tack" on the leaves (this means not using a machine, but hand sewing them on). You could also try fusible webbing which is like glue that you iron on. You'd put it between the leaf and the shirt and iron.

If you REALLY don't care what it looks like, I would staple it. Sounds funny, but it would be cheap and fast and they would stay on.

    Good luck!

  2. Actually, fabric glue would be really good.  It has excellent hold (and usually better than fusible glue "webbing").

Put something like a sheet of cardboard or aluminum foil between the front and back of the sweatshirt, then put the glue where you want it on the leaves or on the shirt, press in place, and weight down the shirt while drying.  (You can also put just a bit of hot glue in and around the fabric glue to give both immediate stick and longer-term stick... the hot glue will dry kinda hard though, where the fabric glue will end up flexible.)
