Auckland wow?

Question

Hi. I recently went for work up in Auckland and got to spend three days roaming around up there. It is such a beutiful city! It is just like my home town Sydney but more laid back.

I loved most things about the place execpt for the bloody traffic!

I went to Mission Bay which is a lovely little spot.

I don't know why so many people hate the city lol. It's great!

What do you think? Who else loves the city of sails!

To me Auckland is just another city -- but I will admit there are some beautiful pockets around the place like Mission Bay, Devonport, Northhead, Waitakere Ranges etc.

The traffic is horrendous..I can attest to that.  I was home in AKL from Melbourne last week and there was a smash on the southern motorway that stopped ALL traffic for several hours. I missed my city appointments because I couldn't get in to town!

I've never been to Auckland and I don't really want to either. I don't think the rest of the country should have to pay to fix Auckland's traffic problems though. I love Sydney though so maybe I would like Auckland. I like Wellington better, and Nelson of course.

Yeah, I like Auckland, but I love Wellington more.  If you think Auckland laid back, you gotta check Welly out.  I've been too Sydney and I can see why you like Auckland as they are quite the same.  The traffic in Auckland is why I don't like it as much as I like Wellington which is my home town.  I'm having the time of my life living it up in Brizzy.
