Australia Student Visa please help!

I lodged my student visa application in other country since there is no Australian mission in my country a month ago i recieved the confirmation of delivery from DHL (which is the company that i hired for the service) But i dindn't recieve any communication from the embassy is that normal?? do they tell you when your application has been recieved?? i haven't heard anything from them is that normal?? please help!!
