Australia or Italy?

I'm interested in being a exchange student in Italy or Australia, but not sure which one. They both appeal to me for different reasons, any suggestions from those who have visited or lived there?

  1. depends on the age an interests. Italy offers really a lot. Food, sea, historical sites. Have a look at http://home.manana.it

Also Australia is interesting and a great place to go, but it is totally different from a vacation in Italy. Anywhere you go, prepare well.

  2. Italy. You will learn a lot more.

  3. Wow, there is such a big difference between the two countries.

Italy has the fashion centre of the world - Milan

Italy has the religious centre of the Christian world - Rome

The people are European so they speak several languages, including Spanish, French, etc

Wines and bottled waters are the drink of choice

    Cafes are outdoor see-and-be-seen type

Australia is more down-to-earth with a you're-my=pal attitude

Beer is the drink of choice in pubs

    Clothing is casual

Food choices lean to burgers rather than French cuisine

  4. italy, no questions! its soooo beautiful there, ive been there many times and even lived there. the language is cool 2!!

  5. Depends where you are at the moment.

If living in the UK, I'd say Oz, and leave the shorter trips for when you are older.  Long haul flights get more wearisome as you age and more risk of nasties like DVTs.

Australia is fantastic - Darling Harbour in Sydney a memory I shall never forget.

Italy is beautiful, but different areas can be done as a 2-week holiday when you are working and don't have the time to spare.
