  1. here in QLD it's Queensland Rail. I don't know anymore....sorry :-(

  2. Countrylink  (NSW regional, Interstate to Qld, Vic Capitals)

Great Southern (Indian Pacific, Overlander, Ghan)

    V/Line  (Victorian regional)

    Connex (Melbourne Suburban)

CityRail (Suburban/Intercity between Greater Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Blue Mtns, Southern highlands)

    QR (Queensland suburban, regional Qld)

West Coast railway (Melbourne to Warrnambool)

WAGR (aka WestRail) -(Perth suburban, regional WA)

There are also private railway lines operated by mining companies:

Pilbara Iron - Tom Price/Paraburdoo to Dampier, Pannawonica to Cape Lambert

BHP-Billeton - Newman to Port Hedland

  3. In Victoria, we have Connex (suburban) as well as V/Line (regional).  Then there's QR (Queensland Railway), AN (Australian National), Countrylink (regional) and CityRail (suburban) in New South Wales and Canberra, and WestRail in W.A.  There are also some 'privatised' lines (such as Southern Railway); and a few others that I may have missed.

    Hope that helps.
