Auto Insurance Runaround....?

Question

I am getting the runaround from Safeauto Ins, they summited me a settlement which I believe was fair. I got all documents signed and returned, it's been about 2 weeks and I have called each day to see if they have recieved my paperwork. Which they haven't. So today I called the supervisor who told me that they we're having mailing problems??? Ya right. Is there any thing I can do to make them speed up the process. And btw it takes a day or two for them to recieve mail from where I live...

Why don't you ask for another release and then overnight it to them or send it certified mail? In some bigger companies with mail rooms (it's not like they have one claims examiner sitting in a little office who takes care of his own mail) it can take 7-10 days for mail to get to the examiner's desk. But two weeks is a long time. It could be that it got lost, which happens and is the reason why I suggested that you have them fax you another release and then send it in a way that it might be tracked.

Yours is probably not the only claim being processed. Give them a little time and then if you don't get your check, call and ask what is going on. BTW...You should have sent those documents "return receipt requested" and "registered mail" so someone would have had to sign for them and you would have a receipt to prove delivery.

I personally would continue to call daily.  I know that when I worked in the Insurance Loss department of my old job we would have some of the same problems.  But the more people called the more we wanted to get their file off of out desk.  But also realize that not all companies have the checkbooks in their offices.  We had to send our paperwork to a different office that would cut the customer a check.  So my advice is to call daily but try not to get to angry with the people you are talking to.  They might have already did their job they are just waiting for the accounting dept. to send the check.
