Auto Insurance & registration?

Question

I am a California resident, I drove my car to New York State for a five month job contract, I just find out my contract will be extend for another five months, I also just received my car registration wil due to renew in November 2006 and a Smog check certificate is required for this renewal.

you are in a bit of a bind there fellow, calif laws are way different from new york, your car is not going to pass.. just register your car in new york and than when you go to calif.change it over again....yes a lot of work but hey you should have done your homework first...

I'm originally from NYS. Went to Arizona, and now Tennessee.

All of these states have laws that if you are employed for 30 days or more, you need to license your car in the state you are residing. If smog testis required, you will have to go through that process to get the car licensed. If the police stop you, they will ticket you.
