Average half marathon time?

i have been training for 17 weeks on a specific training program aimed at finishing 1.40 min. there was hill training and speed-work... increasing mileage from 10-40 km a week from beginning to end of training.

i have been casually running for 2 years, i am 27 years old and this is my first half marathon.

what would be an average time?

also, would it be reasonable after the race to take a few days off and then start a 4 month marathon training program?

thanks.

  1. well idk but yoe hi

  2. Your race time can be predicted by looking at recent 10K races, along with your training speeds.

If you are in good shape then you could run the half about 10 seconds per mile slower than your 10K race time.

Depending on how you feel taking a couple of days off before training again is reasonable.

Most people can take off one or two days, and then run easy for a couple of days.

  3. When is the race.....weather plays a big factor!  Other course and the shape your in (seems had good training)  Did ya do any other race distances in the past?  Give them to me with time and I'll evaluate a good time for ya!  Will Edit..
