Average weeks pregnant before birth???

Does anyone know the average amount of weeks most first time mothers are when they give birth?

  1. well i know it is 9 months!


  2. Average is 40, which is why that is considered full-term. Babies are healthiest at that point, generally speaking. Some people give birth earlier, some people give birth later....

  3. Anywhere between 35-40 weeks is the safest zone, some women are early, some late! It's just a matter of chance.

  4. 36 weeks which is 12 weeks per trimester.  

  5. 40 weeks is full term.  We consider 37-40 weeks full term at work however most babies born at or after 35 weeks can go home with the parents but must be watched more closely for feeding problems.

  6. The doctors schedule for women takes into account for a 40 week period.  I couldn't believe it myself since we grow up hearing 9 months.  I can't tell you the "average."
