BMW v. Mercedes...?

Question

My friend chose to buy a Mercedes CLS 550 4 door coupe instead of the CHEAPER BMW M3 convertible. Isn't that bad decision making if you want an expensive sporty car and if you're a "professional" street racer?

Do you mean the E46 M3 convertible? Because I'm not too sure if the E92 M3 has a cabriolet out yet.

For a sports car, he definetly should have gone for the M3. Better track car, louder, easier to mod, and faster than the CLS.

However, the CLS is expensive for a reason. It's 1,000x more luxurious than the M3, a little slower, but it compensates with less road noise, smoother turns, and a whole shizload of options the M3 doesn't have including being able to seat five people.

Conclusion: The M3 is the optimal race-car between the two cars, but the CLS is a much, much, MUCH easier car to live with. He can also get Brabus upgrades on the CLS, depending on which parts, will optimize gas mileage.

Hmm, Your friend should get the M3 if he is a 'professional street racer'

Mercs are nice cars, don't get me wrong... But if you consider yourself a racer, there's no reason why you would pick the Merc over the BMW. The M3 is far superior than the CLS in the track perspective... Tell your friend to get the CLS if he wants to cruise around town in style & comfort... That is until something breaks down (Mercs... tsk tsk)

yea its a bad idea. i wouldnt even think about getting the mercedes. bmw is top on my list.

Defiantly. Beamers are actually kind of rare to see now! And they are usually owned by "upper class" people like Audi owners.

And Britney Spears drives a Mercedes...So would you want one?

M3 are nice.  i would have definitely chosen that one over the benz.  and what do you mean "professional street racer?"
