I have told BT i wsh to leave them for my land line . I asked for a new bill to show the refund of advance line rental and they told me i will have to still pay these and i will get a refund on next bill.

This is soooo unfair as they are now keeping my money for a service i dont have, any way i can get around this??

Thanksx

  1. I left BT when my own company was able to offer line rental, BT sent a cheque for the repayment of the advance payments fairly soon after I stopped using their service.

I actually have my own telecoms company in partnership with one of the worlds largest telecoms providers and the service is fantastic.

  2. I don't know but... good on ya!

    BT is c**p!

  3. not that i know of, once you are roped in you are roped in. I understand they also get a claim in your will as well (the last bit was a joke...)

  4. I had a bit of problem with BT too, when I wanted to move my landline (they connected me to completely different number), when I asked for internet connection (they did not activate it by mistake for 4 months!) and when I had enough and wanted to leave them, they also told me I have to pay until the contract runs out, wherever I am getting the service or not. I had to cough up nearly £200 and that was the end of matter. BT are the worst service possible.

  5. Hello,

BT will send you a final invoice within a few days of you stopping the service, if you are out of contract then the advanced line rental you have paid will be refunded to you or off set against any calls you have made.

If you are in credit on the final invoice, BT will send a cheque to you to close the account, the is about 10 - 14 days after the final invoice.

Whist it seams unfair to you, in fact this is the way all service providers work, and many will take longer to refund you money.

At least with BT you know what your getting and know you will get your money back.

    Hope this helps?
