BULLDOGS DROPPING TO #2??

Ok I know it doesnt matter too much at the beginning of the season if you arent ranked 1 because if you are worthy you will prove it at the end of the season. But still I think the pollsters are hypocrits because they had Georgia #1 and also Ohio State #2 and I dont believe you should be able to bring a team to a lower ranking unless they lose its just not right. They started out the seaon saying Georgia was number one and they didnt lose so why in the world arent they still number 1? I mean I understand USC beat a better team than the ones Georgia and Ohio State beat but Georgia has alot of SEC teams this year so why would they move them? Virginia is a crapy team also. I just think it should have stayed the was it was until someone lost. I wouldnt be surprised if at the end of the year if Georgia did go undefeated that USC would still be number 1 even though they dont play anyone decent except for ohio state. They did it to auburn a few years back and it was bs, cause they would have killed USC in the national championship. All im saying is they shouldnt even have rankings if they are just going to move people around without them losing.

they gave up 21 pts to Georgia Southern.  Just think of how many points they'll give up to teams with a real offense..

Boo-Hoo The voters FINALLY grew up and stopped saying you can't fall unless you lose. USC WENT to Virgina, a BCS team, and WON CONVINCINGLY. Georgia played at home and beat a Division 1AA team. Even if Virgina isn't that good they are a BCS team, and still a division 1a team, over a Division 1AA team. As to OSU, they weren't ranked #2 in both polls so I won't bother pointing out that it is the same basic thing.

first , if u saw the title game of USC and Oklahoma , u know USC would not have been killed by Auburn , SC killed oklahoma , the sooners had no business being in that game , but , auburn might have won , but not killed SC , second , they moved them up more because SC beat virginia , a team that went to a bowl game last year , rather than it being a sleight to georgia , oh and u cant say SC doesnt play anyone , they play oregon , who beat them last year , and would have been in the title game if dixon didnt get injured , and arizona state , who went to a bowl game , plus this year they play Ohio State . as soon as they kill the buckeyes , it will go to being USC # 1 and Georgia # 2 , and ohio state hopefully out of the title hunt , its boring seeing them get killed for the title by the SEC

Your right. Georgia and Ohio St. basically got punished for not running up the score, and USC was rewarded for doing so. Seems warped to me.

Obviously you're a complete idiot, and you're missing two big factors in the standings, even though you already stated them.

#1 USC went clear across the country to play New Years Day bowl team, and a BCS team in Virginia, and absolutely crushed them. 7 different players each scored a touchdown in that game. Sure Georgia won their game. But come on, against Georgia Southern, a D-1AA school, at home, and still gave up 21 points and almost 300 yards on offense? Not very convincing for the #1 team. Yes Georgia won their game, but they played NOBODY, and just because you beat a creampuff, doesn't mean you get to keep your spot if another team performs better against a stronger team.

#2 How can you say USC doesn't play anybody, and the media favors them? Every year USC always schedules tough out of conference games, ON THE ROAD, and always produces. Yet Georgia and Ohio State play teams like Georgia Southern and Youngstown St at home ALL THE TIME. And please don't say the Pac 10 is a joke. Yeah it's not quite the level of the SEC, but they're are a lot of good bowl-caliber teams, unless the Big Ten, Big East, and ACC. And, USC was also ranked #1 in the coaches poll, which has a heavy influence from the SEC. Are you going to say they're dissing their own teams just to boost USC? I doubt it.

i completely understand.  the northern teams and usc don't take on nearly the talent that the sec teams do.  we obviously know that ohio state sucks because they lose to sec teams (badly) every year.  

i don't know why georgia was placed below usc, but like you say, it's most likely just media bull c**p.

i'd just like to leave you with a "Go SEC"   forget about the haters because we know where the best football the country is ever gonna see!

Georgia will lose 2 or 3 games this year so they should be lucky i be #2!!

Be careful what you say about the Pac 10 ,Georgia plays a good ASU team that can score on anybody.

Georgia  gave up 21 points to a high school team.ASU can beat Georgia .People also said UCLA had no chance !!

Well if you'll notice the Coaches also jumped USC to number 1, by a wider margin to boot. If UGA goes undefeated they will be the UNANIMOUS number 1 team in the country at the end of the year. The one thing that will not be questioned this year is the difficulty of Georgia's schedule.

Also, USC looked better than Georgia did, quality of opponent set aside. Of course, that is explained away by the fact that we played nearly everyone on our team who had a jersey on (if not everyone). You said it yourself, these polls mean almost nothing. Since none of the quality teams have played other quality teams (except Mizzou v. Illinois) , the top teams right now are just that, top teams. Not the best team, or the best in their conference.

Also, I'm glad we got jumped. First of all, the bullseye is removed. And second of all, it gives you something to practice for, to strive for, to fight for. No one should want to be number one until the last BCS poll comes out.

The Bulldogs had like 30 points scored on them by a subD1AA taam, maybe that had something to do with it.  

it doesn't really matter at all, just focus on the future.  the rankings now will have no meaning in the end.
