BUY CAR FROM EBAY ???

Question

is it smart/reliable to buy a car from ebay???

i plan on buying a pontiac solstice...and the bid rite now is $500.00...actual price is $19K...

but the car is in florida, and i live in california...so there's no way i could go and pick up the car...

so i wanted to know how much the average monthly payments would be for the car, and how much the shipping would be if i had the car shipped to california?

the car's a 2007 used (good condition) pontiac solstice

I would definitely not bid on a car. I would look for a "Buy it Now" or just buy it locally. Asking how much a payment would be is a relatively broad question. It depends on how large your down payment is, your credit score, as well as how long you decide to finance the car. It can be from $199-$4000.

Also, if you are getting it shipped, find something closer and with today's gas prices, expect to spend more than a couple thousand shipping.

Look at the Saturn Sky, it looks more high end.

Ebay is safe,but Pontiac's are electrical nightmares.Just wait till 70,000 miles.

NO way! not unless you can go to see the car in person and buy it cash in hand.

If someone is selling a car that cheap when its worth a lot more, there HAS to be a catch.

NEVER EVER get a car shipped from someone. Its even more likely to be a scam. The people will take your money and may not even send a car,thats IF they even have the car in the first place.

My strong advice, is to keep looking locally

First of all dont buy the Solstice.I went through this last year.I searched and searched and wanted a roadster 2 door convertible.If it was built I drove it.I spent 30 days ,researched them all and drove them all.I finally settled on a Honda S2000.The solstice more than any of the roadsters was cheap feeling.It also under powered compared to the other cars in its class if you drive them all you will see.The Solstice doesnt have the best reveiws and its resale value is in the tank comparatively.I bought the S2000 because you get alot of car for the money.All the reveiws were excellent and the quality is above expectations.The power WOW! tHIS THING IS A RACE CAR.It has more power than the Porsche Boxster for half the price.If you are dead set on the Pontiac buy the sister car that Saturn Manufactures.It is the same car built by G.M. With a much better body style,quality feel and originality.I hope I helped you.By the way I have purchased vehicles on E-BAY and always been satisfied.Most perople selling cars on Ebay will have a delivery option for a price.Some will meet you half way even.

let me tell you ebay is horrible for selling and buying cars i tried to sell a blazer the person never paid for it so i lost even more money having to resale it it was a nightmare i would not suggest buying or selling a car on ebay if u need a ride shop locally so u can drive sit it smell really check it out who knows you might bid on the car and win pay all that money have it shipped and go out to the driveway meet the tow truck driver open the door for the first time all exited sit down in it and low and behold there it a dead cat sticking out from under the seat that is a experience i don't want so good luck
