Babies and bikes?

Question

My daughter is 10 months, and I'd like to get her a seat to fit to my bicycle - one of the ones that goes in front of you but behind handlebars. How safe are they? Or are the ones that go on the back of the bike better? It says that the seats are suitable from mainly a year, or as young as nine months as long as the baby has very good head control to account for the extra weight from the helmet, so she should be fine, right? Does anyone know where I can get a helmet small enough?

All three of mine rode in the back seat with helmets from Wal-Mart. They all loved to ride, and one of them fell asleep every single time.

Have you tried Halfords? Or your local specialist cycle shop?

No idea about the helmets but I came across some nifty looking bike seats quite by accidident just this morning.

It has a bit where the child can slump forward and rest their head.

It says:

"The seat is designed for ages 1-5 years, and officially up to 18kg but it is all dependant on how quickly your baby / child has grown so I would use these as guidelines."
