Baby Hamster Care HELP QUICK?

Question

My hamster had 11 babies, she got out of her cage and to make a long stroty short she started to try and kill them so I took them out of the cage. Well I started to feed them puppy milk replacement nd heavy whipping cream because thats what the vet said. However they have become latargic and stopped wanting to eat :( Im down to only 4 now they are 12 days old today and still there eyes are closed and they havent started to seem interested in hard food. I need help!!! What can I do? And when will they open there eyes>???

big mistake taking them out of the cage. the mom kills the ones off that are sick, weak or that are going to die soon. CALL THE VET NOW! in the meantime, keep them warm, feed them, and thats all you can do.

make sure they have a safe soft place to sleep and u know the powder dust stuff at the bottum of the hamster food bag    give them that and make sure they have water                         hope they get better        good luck they will probally open there eyes in a week or two

Hmm....I had 13 babies once. I think there eyes should open in about a week. Just try and keep them seperate. A few of my babies died, because they attacked each other for food. Always have fresh food there, and water, and don't hold them, especially if there eyes haven't opened yet. I am praying for them!

Make sure they stay really warm--either cuddle them constantly with your body warmth or put them in a fleece blanket under a heat lamp. Feed them a lot, offer them food at least every twenty minutes. Make sure they stay away from their mom. If this doesn't work--because I'm not a pro, this is just what seems right--talk to your vet a.s.a.p.

well.... it wasnt very smart to take them out in the first place...

not calling u dum but ur action wasnt smart...

but maybe she was eating sum of them cuz they were sick and thats y sum of them died...

or she was probably trying to cut sum down cuz there were too many...

and if she is younger than 4 months then she tried eating them cuz she wont be able to produce enuf milk for her young...

yah and wat everyone sed you should go to the vet

Okay, one, big mistake to take them out of the cage.  It's natural for the mother to eat a few of her babies.  I got nothing else for you, call the vet.

Keep them warm, and...CALL THE VET. As soon as possible, or sooner.

They usually open their eyes around day 10, but if they're eating something other than mother's milk, their nutrition is not going to be ideal--so it's not unusual that their development would be somewhat stunted.

It is really hard to hand-rear rodents; they may not make it despite your best efforts. But, you need talk to the vet again so you can give them the best chance possible. My fingers are crossed for your little guys.

call the vet again and maybe if possibly take them to the vet i know they will help tell them keep them warm and even if they arent eating make them see or know food is there!

well the mum probably wanted to kill them cause u touched when they where small. didn't you ??

well my friend rubbed her hamsters when they where just born and the mum killed them. well call the vet again or read about it in the Internet or something. i never had them so i don't know.
