Baby name Dempsey? ?

Im expecting a boy in a few months and im at the stage where im obsessing over what to name him!

What do you think of it?

The last name is Sparrow, Dempsey Sparrow?

i've never heard of the name Dempsey. I am personally not to fond of the name Dempsey. It sounds very sad. If you like 'D' names, maybe try some of these:

Daniel Sparrow

David Sparrow

Donte Sparrow

My initial reaction is - that is a pretty rad name!

But... break it down for a second. What will the poor kid's nickname be? Demp. Dempy. (kinda sorta sounds like "dumpy")

Even if you give your child this totally unique name and never use a nickname, think about at school, playground, etc. Kids can be cruel.

I don't like it at all. Maybe use it as a middle name if it's just a name you can't live w/out.

The problem for me is that Dempsey is a last name for some (ie Patrick Dempsey). It does not strike me as a first name at all. How about Gregory Sparrow?

(Or you could always name him Jack and refer to him as the little Captain. ;oÞ)
