Baby sparrows leg?

Question

i found a baby house sparrow a couple days ago, well i think it is a sparrow. but anyways he/she is doing fine but everytime he lays down his leg stick out i try to move it but it dosent work he can stand on it so its not broken. is this normal? what should i do? heres a picture of him/her. i took it with my webcam so its not that good. also, he likes to sit on the end of the tin can i have, like to perch on it. he sits up too, well he tries to for a little while. is this good?

I'm by no means an authority but I suspect you have a starling instead of a sparrow.  You can call your local Audobon chapter and ask about locally available animal rehab houses.There are animal recovery organizations, (usually a couple working out of their garage).  I would guess that they would not be greatly concerned about rehabilitating a starling since there are literally millions of them out there and tend to be considered "trash birds".  If they do take it under their wing (pardon the pun) they may ask for a small monetary offering to help reduce their expenses in the rehab.  

I would think no less of you, if you were to keep the bird safe until it felt like flying away on it's own.  Not sure what it will take to make it learn to fly away but good luck.

There's nothing you can do about it, whatever it is.  And the more you try to do for baby birds the worse it seems to go for them.  Many of them are just not meant to live.  However, I've seen adult birds that were missing a foot or had a broken leg and seemed to be doing just fine.  I've seen one of them day after day, week after week so I know he's getting enough to eat.  It's great that you care, but there are some things we just have no control over.

i think it will be fine, but if it int in a month, vet all the way
