Baby turtles when they grow up..?

i just bought 2 baby turtles and enjoyed my first day with them and im already attached to them but people keep coming up to me telling me that they can get you sick and once there older they start to bite a lot and when they bite it hurts and they don't let go. what should i do and is it true?

its very rare for ppl to  get sick but it only bc ppl dont wash there hands after the mess with the turtle all turtles bite if u make them mad just dont stick u fingure by its mouth, u cant always listen to what ppl say

Handle the turtles as little as possible. They aren't dolls. Wash your hands thoroughly after touching the turtles or their water. And don't stick your hands in front of them. You'll be fine. More important ;-) so will the turtles.
