Babysitting a Hamster?

Question

I'm babysitting a hamster for 2 weeks while my friend's in England. I owned a hamster years ago but I get what it was like to own a hamster. Any tips that would help me take really good care of it?

ask your friend.  make sure that they give you food or that you get a similar brand.... feed it as your friend tells you to (basically don't over or under feed).

play with it everyday so that it gets exercise/socialization... make sure it's in a same area (closed room) so that your own pets don't come in contact and that you don't accidently lose it or have it get loose where it may get hurt!

you can play with it a bit put in the hamster ball clean his cage once a week http://www.pethamsters.co.uk/foods.html you can give him treats he can eat just about all vegetables and stuff give him a treat once in a while they love that.

as long as it has a wheel just play with it now and then

give it its food, and water.

if tjhey have sun flower seeds use that as treats but dont give too much becuz they are fatty

fresh food and water every day, remove soiled bedding everyday, deep clean once a week.

if it's nice enough for you, take it out every day, if not, talk to it and give it treats.

also, make sure and watch for signs of wet tail, the hamster might get stressed from the move, which sometimes can stir up wet tail.

just watch for it, should be fine

Umm play with it a bit. Put it in one of those balls so it can run around and get exercise. Keep the water filled. As well as the food. Change the bedding in its cage every 3-4 days. Other than that just have fun with it!
