  1. Hi! I've been babysitting for years!

Look clean cut, but dont dress up. Wear jeans (but not low rise ones!) and a sweater, or a t-shirt. Nothing skimpy.  Preferably in a bright colour, like blue.

Just have your hair in a pony tail, dont wear too much make up, leave the emo stuff at home!

And the most important thing in the interview is to show you are interested in the child. So right away, when you see the child, kneel down, make eye contact, say "Hi! I'm __' maybe ask for a high-five, two year olds love that. And then play with the child.

Dont bring your brother, you should focus on her child.  but mention him in your interview, because it shows you're experienced and comfortable around children.

Also, bring a toy or an activity with you the first time you babysit. She might scream when her mum leaves and if you have something shiney and new it might distract her

    Good luck!

  2. Hey! I live in a really small town and I'm the town designated babysitter.

Now the big secret is that parents most often leave the final decision to their child, that is of course after they've decided your not a total freak. They will ask their childs opinion so as Dawn said get down to her/his level and play with them for a couple of minutes, high fives and small games are fun. Now as for what to wear there are a couple of don'ts, No skirts (the child is short, need I say more), No skimpy shirts, The fox, and famous shirts would be fine to wear just make sure you don't wear one with alot of righting on it you want them to pick you based on your personality not because of your vulgar clothing. Don't over do the makeup but make sure you look pretty. Act like yourself and if they ask you to do somehting you can't or you don't know how to just tell them, most likely they will understand. My big trick is that I bought a dress up trunk from the toys R us in the next town, and it works wonders to destract the kids after their parents leave. So if it's a little girl make sure you ask when your there if she likes to play dress up and that should hook her on the idea. Big rule get a dress or somethign for your self make sure you interact with the child so she can tell her parents she wants you back and bring themed band-aids (it minimizes the crying) Good Luck!

  3. Just be yourself but I would avoid low cut jeans...  I hate when my 2 year old spots too much skin then asks me questions about hairy people.
