Babysitting problem. Irresponsible parent?

Question

This lady is a single mom, working 2 jobs and is going to college. So I know she's not doing too well financially.. Which is why I accept only $3 an hour to watch her 6 year old daughter.

She tells me she will call that night, then I don't end up hearing from her for a week. It's so annoying.

I mean I'm doing her a HUGE favor and she's being so rude.

This morning she said she would call me to let me know if she'll be bringing her over in the morning. And she hasn't called me.

I really don't feel like waking up @ 7 AM if she's not going to show.

I thought about calling her and asking..but it's really not my responsibility.

tell her you have a problem with. you doing a really nice thig for taking that little. she might not find someone like you so she will fix the problem

Tell her she has to let you know the night before or you will not be available

Ask her if she could "make it on time and be more specific on what she wants, i would really appreciate if you would call me back so i wont have to wake up early for nada"

She didn't call when she said she would then sleep honey and if she shows up at your door I wouldn't answer it, it's not your fault if she isn't responsible enough to call you ahead of time.

here is what  you can do.

tell her that from now on if she doesn't come on time it will be the regular rate plus $1 per minute she is late, for a late fee.  

if she doesn't show to drop the child off she has to pay for the day any way.  write this up and have her sign it.

if, after that, she doesn't pay you, do not babysit until you are pd in full.

the ignorance will immediately stop, you watch!!!

You have to talk to her and let her know that if you can't rely on her being responsible then you aren't going to waste your time. It's not fair to you
