Backflip problems?

ok, so, today was my first day trying out tricking, i can do a tornado kick, a 360 kick, and a 540 kick (i also combined the 360 kick and the 540 kick into a double spin crencent kick, found that myself <3) and i tried a backflip today, and whenever i tried, i always landed on my back, and got the wind knocked out of me. i've got the arm motion, and the jump (I THINK) and i might have a problem with the tuck part, idk, i know people don't get it on their first try, but i want to get it as fast as i can, if i don't, eachtime, it'll hurt. HELP!!!

  1. well if you want to get a back flip obviously you need a lot of air

well if you land on your back your jumping backwards.

what you want to do is that jumping up throwing your arms backwards. but the thing is first bring your arms back and once you feel that tension throw it up in the air . once your arms reach your eye level thats when you jump up. make sure you look the direction your moving (if you look back you'll lose control and maybe land somewhere else)and tuck your legs because that's what gets you over backwards. now when you tuck your legs you'll begin the landing. when you land you keep your knees bent to absorb the landing.and if you can get rid of the fear it helps your backflip a lot.the thing is that if you land on your knees or front area that means you need a little more air. if you do one good try the fear goes away faster than it usually does. i don't remember anything else to say but yeahh

another way is that you can get a spotter to help you one this

this person needs to be strong and reliable. now the spotter will put one hand over your back and the other hand at the bottom of your butt on the leg. now they will tell you if your doing something wrong such as if you don't throw your arms up. now the hand on your back is the support to keep you up and helps your body realize the spin and the tuck part. the other hand will help you gain that momentum by throwing your leg over.

    hope i helped

  2. I think you should get together with someone who knows how to do a black flip and have him or her instruct you over and over until you get it. it will take time, patience, commitment and an understanding friend or instructor but in the end you will succeed. If you have to do the back flip for a kata or form you might want to ask your instructor to modify that part of the form and replace it with something more suitable for your talents because the form should tailored for you and not you tailored for the form or kata. check out back-flip.com i think you might get good advise there too.

  3. you need to learn DBZ tactics

  4. backflips and flying kicks all those are completely useless in a real fighting situation
