  1. I love Badminton. Assuming you know the basics of the game and can serve/return and use backhand (hope so!), here are my tips in summary:

    1. Always breathe more OXYGEN into your volleys because fast Badminton games require a lot of stamina. Each time you have to return the shuttle, BREATHE heavily through your nostrils and mouth because you need extra momentum to be able to push.

    2. Try to serve gently. There is no use exerting all your energy on a serve which will be returned anyway. Just keep it low enough so that it can't be smashed.

    3. Maximise your backhand advantage. The best players are adept at using backhand anytime and in any situation. While using backhand, "strengthen" your grip on the handle and draw your elbows more forcefully (say 60% more than what you would normally do) and just strike it ahead. Backhand is also about power-play.

    4. If somebody is about to SMASHE you, learn to anticipate in advance (say 3 seconds) and prepare yourself accordingly. Try to gain an approximate picture of where the shuttle would land, bend your knees in advance and gently "lift" the shuttle low enough so that it may not be smashed again.

    5. Winning is all about guts and your fatigue levels. Try to frustrate your opponent by making him run around the court.

    6. Chest exercises and Yoga (Aerobics) is excellent for training your body for competitive matches.
