Bahamas in September?

I'm trying to plan a vacation for the end of August thru early September and was thinking about the Bahamas. The Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island is what I had in mind. What is the weather like during that time? I know it's "hurricane" season, but I've heard that it's not bad in the Bahamas. Thanks

I live right near Atlantis from September to May yearly, and the weather has always been wonderful.  It is hurricane season, but we've never had an issue there.

it is rains alot in the bahamas during summer. Trust me. one time i spent my summer in freeport,grand bahama and it rain all summer so i never had a chance to go to the beach.

if it rains, it lasts for couple hours or just that day. the next day it be hot as h**l and sunny. it is still very hot during september.

Regardless of it being hurricane season, the weather is generally perfect. If it does rain it is generally in the afternoon and does not last long and clears up very quickly. I am going to Atlantis the weekend of Sept 18 for my bachelorette party and am not worried about it. One thing to check on (for peace of mind and if you are worried) is maybe travel insurance bc if there does happen to be a hurricane you can rebook for a different date or get a refund with no penalty.

Atlantis has a 63 acre aqua adventure waterscape in paradise island we always travel to the caribbean in those months because it is cheaper and so far we have always had gorgeous weather.  theres a bunch of weather links on this site in the travels tips and links section. http://redhotescapes.com/ as long as no big hurricane comes you are fine its a small gamble in my opinion hurricanes tend to head to the other side mexico gulf area

The chart below gives the average rainfall and temperatures by month for the Bahamas. You'll see that September is actually better than August for rain.

Like you said, it's hurricane season. Just keep in mind, it could get rainy out there if a hurricane blows through. If that's the only time you can go, I would take the chance but I would buy travel insurance that covers hurricanes.
