On the other hand, the defeat for the Magpies dropped them deeper down the table, now involving them in a race for survival in the English top-flight. The Tyneside team have just compiled 20 points from their 21 fixtures and are just two points away from

The English International lauded the way his side crawled their way back into the match after conceding an early goal, but admitted that they made the most of the depleted confidence of their opponents.

“It was a massive three points,” he told the reporters in an interview.
