I am a 17 year old girl and I want to start contemporary dancing. Next year I am going into premed in university (it's my first year) and I want to maintain a 3.8 GPA, which will take lots of time. I have danced when I was like 8 years old in summer camps but nothing else afterwards. I want to dance so much and express feelings with my body and whenever I see dancing I want to get up and join them. Is it possible to start dancing now (it doesn't have to be competitive) and how would I start?

  1. by joining a good dance school the teacher should know from the outset whether u have got what it takes,......goood luck

  2. Do what I do. Turn the radio on, get in front of the mirror and just feel the music. Do it in your room when nobody is looking. Wacth so you think you can dance to get ideas. Go to youtube and look up dance or dance for begginers. I have so much fun by myself doing stupid stuff like this.

When you get to college take all the dance clases...but make sure you spread them out so that the whole time you are in college you'll always have space for more dance classes... for example...don't leave english and bio for your senior year...because you'll be very unhappy in senior year if you love to dance and can't in school.

  3. i say go for it! it would be a lot of work but if you really want to do it as much as you say you do then you will be fine. just remember that the more classes that you take the better you will be. but you need to balance that with you uni. i know how hard that it cause i have to do it! good luck and happy dancing!
