Question:

Ballet shoes without elastic?

I am going to my first class today, and my step mother goes to the same studio. We have about a 1 hour period between our classes when we are doing nothing, and I don't have my ballet shoes yet so I was going to pick them up in that time.

But my problem is, I might now have time to sew te elastic on in time for my class. Is it possible to wear them without elastic for one class or would everything go horribly wrong?

  1. sure, i pin mine all the time!

you can try sewing them in a short amount of time,

but its better just to wait untill you have more time.

just to make sure they are correctly sewed!

  2. As long as they fit snug, Go For It!!!  I don't think it will be an issue though because it is your first class.  Sew them on later. I go for a while without sewing on my elastic!!! But put them on as soon as possible!!!  Also make sure the elastic string INSIDE the shoe is tight, but not too tight.  That way they won't fall off

  3. You'll be fine without it, I never sew mine on, its a pain and theres no need for it

  4. Just pin them.

  5. oh...well...i've had these shoes too...but these ones do require for you to sew in the elastics...the sansha's split sole tend to slide off the back of the foot a lot...but when you do sew them in make sure the elastics are very snuggand don't slide off...trust me i've gotten in trouble for messing with MY shoes in class...and it ain't a pretty picture

  6. if they are flat shoes... then it would be fine to safety pin although i had a friend whose safety pin popped out and poked her. What i do with my flat shoes is i just know the two elastics and then cross them and position the Knot under my arch. I get grishkos which already have the back part of the elastics sewn and they have double elastics... If they are point shoes then definitley not.. u would break your ankle!!

  7. one word Pointe snaps you can get then and they just snap on you can get elastics or ribbons they might have them at the shop or your mum might have some!!!!!
