What type of sausage is used in the british dish bangers and mash(sausage and mashed potatoes).

You can use any good quality pork sausage.  I usually go for Cumberland (which traditionally are in a ring) but you can get straight ones. they have a good flavour.  I cook my potatoes add salt, pepper and a good dollopp of real butter and cream them.  I cook off sausages and fry an onion in the oil the sausage release,to make an onion gravy i like it with savoy or spring cabbage.  Delicious real comfort food and a dish i love to make and eat oh now i know what i'm having tonight!!
