I recently signed up for online banking and noticed that my checking account was 500 dollars short. After reviewing my deposit slips, I noticed that the 500 dollars was deposited into another bank account. This happened a month ago and I just noticed it. I cannot call the bank until 6 am and its currently 1 am. I am just flipping out becuase I don't know what is going to happen. 100 of the 500 dollars was in a check form from my aunt and the other 400 was CASH. Will I be able to get this money back?

  1. oh my gosh...scary feeling, I can imagine...but don't worry! It's a simple human error, when you can tomorrow just go into the banking center that you made the deposit into show your receipt (which generally will have the location, date, and teller who helped you) and through researching the transactions of that day of that teller at that particular bank it should be a pretty hassle-free process to see that it was put into the wrong account. perhaps a few numbers scanned wrong or something..just make sure you have your id and be calm it's an easy fix, sad when it happens, but no worries!!!

  2. Since you have your deposit slips, the bank should be able to straighten this out fairly quickly.  Get some sleep and call them in the morning.

  3. is there an emergency 800 number you can call?
