whats a good website where i can tel how much baseball cards go for?

I dont think they will really list the prices on a site. Beckett magazine will have the prices though.  Go to a bookstore, they will have it

It still amazes me when people give answers that just dont help.

Beckett.com is a great website when researching catelog value. However, you must pay $2.99 to get a one month subscription. It does give a lot of information and can help you get a great idea of what your card/s are worth. Especially if you are looking for inserts are parallels.

Also, try E-Bay. You can also find similar cards for sale and judge the value for yourself quite easily.

I will share with you that you must take in to account the condition of your card/s. Nowadays, selling your card/s also has a lot to do with the market you are in and that players current popularity. For example, you will obviously have a tougher time getting good money for a  Matt Holiday card in Cleveland then in Colorado.

I have been buying and trading for many years. The easiest and cheapest way is check out E-Bay. I would also see if you could take a walk down to a local card shop or show. Many times they have current Beckett mags available and you just may find a buyer!

Simple..forget the internet and go to your local Walgreens, grocery store, barnes n noble etc and check their magazine section.  I guarantee that one of them is selling a magazine called Beckett or Tuff Stuff.  I would say the bookstore or maybe even a library would be best to do real research. Take a piece of paper and write down the info that you need for FREE. I have a feeling that you are in need of prices for just a handful of cards and not 1000's!  If you are a serious collector then spend the money and signup on beckett.com or just buy a physical copy at the store for $5-6.  Prices don't change that much month to month so there isn't a huge need to buy a year subscription unless you are going to some serious buying and selling and want the most current prices to date.  Also remember that even Becketts price are not set in stone.  Ebay is a good gauge to see what cards sell for in the real world.  For example a card that Beckett says sell high for $12 and low $5.  On ebay the same card may only sell for $2. Why simple supply and demand.  Dealers are the only ones that tend to sell cards near book.  Ebay tend to be where you go to unload your cards for a fast buck so the values will be alot lower there on average for almost all cards then whatever a price book quotes.

If you want to pay a little bit, you can go to beckett.com.  Beckett does tons of pricing books that you could get.  If you send your cards in, they can also grade them.
