  1. Well is not easy finding the exact pic i wanted, but this is a idea http://www.flickr.com/photos/uglyisthene... just that make it more dark all most no light and ad some cool lights to give it a mood. If your going to study there then have it will lot of light like the pic. Ad some old cool sophas, and make it relaxing.

  3. check out pbteen.com    they have GREAT ideas. I'd say just make sure you have like an area for lounging and an area for sleeping. maybe separated by a cute curtain, draping, or like a bamboo curtain. think fun colors, but nothing too bring. you want it to be relaxing. NOTHING dark because this will only add to fact that its a basement and make it seem darker and cramped. you'll want lots of lighting, so consider floor lamps, and maybe hanging a string of like those party lights on the ceilings (they come in so many different designs and shapes... stars, bulbs, frogs lol, bamboo tiki looking ones, etc). Also, try to make sure you have a theme and color scheme that is consistant throughout the ENTIRE basement. don't get sidetracked! pick something that is versitle for both a lounge room and bedroom and stick with that. otherwise the room will look cluttered and overwhelming. remember, you want it fun, but RELAXING! imagine friends hanging out with drinks just talking and the ideal setting and background. don't forget a tv with dvd player and mini fridge!! :)

    some theme ideas are...

    -paris/cafe/european

    -island themed/beach/jamaican

    -earthy chic/'green'

-princess without the little girly (golds, bright pinks, chandiliers, makeup center)

-New York/big city (posters. broadway, ceiling spotlights)

-geometic (circles, stripes, squares, pick one and pick like 3 colors that look good together and stick with those ideas)
