Bath signs key duo
Bath Rugby has signed key duo Ignacio Fernandez-Lobbe and John van der Giessen to come in and strengthen the second-row.
Bath has been hit by a string of injuries over the last week that has seen key players Scott Hobson and Peter Short restricted to the medical room. The new players coming in will add depth in the lock
position.
Bath head coach Steve Meehan said: "Both players will be a valuable addition to the squad at this time when we have
injuries in the second row. They are both experienced players, who have played in a variety of leagues, and have really good attitudes."
Both players have large sets of skills that will help them settle in quickly at Bath. It's important the club maintains the good start to the Premiership that sees the
team top of the table after two games.
Quality players
Fernandez-Lobbe joins Bath from Northampton until the end of the season. This shows he has experience of playing in the Premiership and will be used to the fast pace of
English rugby. It will allow him to be effective immediately.

He has also played for Argentina in three different World Cups. This proves he knows how to maintain physical fitness during intense periods and he should enjoy a long
run in the Bath side.
Van der Giessen is captain of the USA national team and signs a three-month deal. He is a very good leader and this will be vital in keeping the Bath team well organised
when the side is under pressure in big games.
Meehan added: "Ignacio has played at the highest level for his country,
and is a proven leader, so will be bringing some great experience with him, and John is a strong player, who has some very good lineout skills and is also athletic around the field."
Betting advice
Both of these players will add a lot of structure to the Bath team. This will make the side difficult to break down and it should enhance the defensive play. This means
Bath will lose fewer games so back them confidently to win throughout the year.
