Beaches in downtown chicago??

are there any beaches by navy pier in downtown chicago?? because my friends and i are planning to go to chicago and walk around navy pier, but we also want to go to a beach. and we want to find a beach thats walking distance. so which is the closest beach to navy pier? thanx!!!

Yes, the nearest one is at Ohio Street. You can get there from Navy Pier by walking north through Milton Lee Olive Park (this is a small and beautiful little park).

The most popular downtown beach is Oak Street Beach, which features palm trees (non-native, of course), the Oak Street Beachstro (food) and plenty of people looking to see and be seen.
