  1. These guys can give you salmonella - be very careful not to get bitten, and wash your hands very thoroughly after handling him.

We had one that was about a foot nose to tail, and we would put about 6-8 crickets in his tank every day, along with some lettuce or other greens.  It's up to him to chase them around.  Ours got old, and we ended up feeding him by hand, but he never bit us.

If you are feeding it some kind of lizard chow, you just need to put less in the feed dish.  Good luck.

  2. you will just have to take the bite and handle often dont feed so often

  3. feed it less and wear a glove next time

  4. keep on trying to handle the beardie, and try to avoid getting bitten, but jsut try to be very gentle with it and clean ur hands thoroughly before and after you handle the beardie especially if it bites you.

for feeding I'd say feed it around 8 crickets, and give it a bowl with veggies like lettuce and carrots

    Hope I helped :D

  5. you could but some food on your hand to lure him on your hand.  OR you might just be holding her wrong.  THe correct way to hold a beardie is to put your pointer finger under his chin and your other fingers under her tail/stomach.  Also if she/he squirms a lot, you should lightly grasp his/her tail and when he/she tries to run away, put slightly more pressure on the tail so she/he cannot escape.

  6. Every time she tries to bite, put some food in her mouth before she gets the chance.  Most lizards bite out of fear, not out of viciousness, and that will help them think of you as a source of food rather than a predator.  Another thing is to slowly put your hand in the cage, and just keep it there where they can't reach, several times a day.  Gradually over time get closer and closer until she is comfortable with being touched.  Another trick is to wait until she is too sleepy to really resist.  Then get a shirt that smells like you, wrap her up in it, and keep her in there as she falls asleep.  Later on, you can hold her while she falls asleep in it.

For a Beardie her age she should be getting 30 worms or 50 crickets a week and daily salad.
