  1. If your regulator comes out of your mouth under water, let small bubble come out of your mouth as you come back to the top. That's the one thing I had alot of trouble with. Other than that, you should be okay.

Are you taking a class or is your dad teaching you?

  2. You can be injured in any depth of water.  Just because it isn't the open ocean, doesn't make it instantly safe.

I would recommend getting some proper instruction.

Your dad may be able to tell you a lot of the correct stuff, but he may gloss over some of the very important safety aspects of scuba diving.

  3. Diving is diving no matter where you do it. Fresh, Salt, Spring, Lake, River, Ocean all require the same training. If your father is an instructor then go for it as long as he's current with his agency. If he's not then he should know better and send you to someone who can teach you without picking up bad habits.

There are other hazards you could run into with the springs such as currents, debris, caves, undertow, and the worst one is things you didn't think about.

Don't risk your life and your fathers life because you didn't think it was real diving.

    Good Luck and be safe
