I have just barely started getting into photography and I'm looking for a camera that's good to start with. I don't have tons of money to spend but I do want quality and detail. Any suggestions?

  1. Nikons are good, so are many of the others too. I always tell people to go to http://www.dpreview.com or http://www.imaging-resource.com. Both are great Web sites for learning about all the products (cameras) out there, how much they cost and even where to buy them. But if you're not really sure what you're looking for, try this site: http://www.myproductadvisor.com. You answer some easy questions and you get recommendations of cameras that fit your needs and budget.

    Hope this helps.

  2. i highly recommend anything of the Nikon brand because the lenses never break and are very clear, they last a really long time, plus they have a variety from the large bulky ones to the new coolpix cameras. me personally bought the Nikon 210 and i am glad i did. it has 8 mega pixels and a ton of different features. check out there website!

  3. Check out the Canon Powershots.  Very good cameras and a good variety of models and prices.

  4. Well if you want a DSLR there are two main makes, Canon and Nikon, although Sony has made some good cameras.  A good yet cheap Nikon camera is the D40, i just got this the other day for £270 and it is a brilliant camera.  Other cameras you might want to look at are the canon eos and the sony A200
