Bell set no. 41,?

Question

is it blue orange and green brown to make ring, i have a star wired one to sort in the morning and am unsure how big a cable to run to the piece of bakealite next to it? its in series and parralel with all sorts of old string.

found N diagram but none the wiser??

Green to ringing leg 3 , orange to B leg 5 , blue to A leg, brown is usually spare, however sometimes it is used for the bell wire, common it up with the green and it may ring. Or what you can do is install a 5a or a 5b where the line comes in and wire it up as you would a bell 80d.

The wires in a four pair cable, using those colors, are:

First pair: blue-white, and white-blue.

Second pair: orange-white, and white-orange.

Third pair: green-white, and white-green.

Fourth pair: brown-white, and white-brown.

Your telephone should probably be connected to the first pair; the green station wire goes to blue-white, and the red wire goes to white-blue.  The other pairs allow for additional lines.
