  1. there are some caves   (cuevas de canolobre)

torremolinos, fuengorola. ask in your hotel or your informacion des touristas.

  2. Gibraltar, definitely Granada (a fair drive but well worth the effort, you need to book to get into Granada Palace 24 hours in advance by phone but again well worth it), Marbella old town, Puerto Banus, if you have kids or like Water Parks go to Aquapark Mijas and finally try the white washed town of Mijas Pueblo. Those are just a few places but it should get you started.

  3. come down and visit me in Marbella

  4. Marbella, Gibraltar, Malaga are all very nice. Torremolinos is beside Benalmadena. You will have plenty of nice places to visit and they will be well advertised.

  5. I live in Benalmadena, there are 100's of places to visit, like other writers have stated, you can go down to Marbella, GIB, Huelva is nice, Jerez is lovely and very interesting if you book a trip which includes the wine tours/bodegas, Mijas is nice, Arroyo de la Miel, has loads of shops, bars good eating places, Tivoli amusemment Park, it is closed just now, BUT does open for a limited time on Sundays.

Arroyo has a big market on the Tivoli car park Fridays, flea market on Wednesday mornings in the Parque de Paloma, this park is nice, it has a huge lake, birds, chickens, rabbits etc., running around, there is also a Marine park situated at the side of this park also.

Depends when you are coming, but most places should be off and running after Easter.............?

  6. For a complete guide to visiting Benalmadena it would pay to visit the "Benalmadena homestead" site.  Here you will find details of excursions, attractions, maps, resort & transport information, in fact all you need to know and more.  The caves mentioned by a contributor above are probably those at Nerja, and the "Hindu temple" is in fact Castillo Bil-Bil, an Arabian style building on the sea-front, used for exhibitions, weddings etc.  The park referred to, is almost certainly Paloma Park, which you should not miss.   It is huge, and has a lake, fountain, cactus garden, animal enclosure, beautiful shrubs and flowers, a couple of cafe/bars and animals running free.  If you click on to "photos" on the website, you will see the Castle and many pictures of the park on a moving display.  I visited Benalmadena 4 times in 2007, and just love the place.

  7. you must visit GIBRALTER.

  8. I live in Spain and really think that Benalmadena is an underrated place. Presumably you are staying by the coast (Benalmadena Costa) and I  recommend that you visit the village (Benalmadena Pueblo) which is a typical old Andalusian village, quaint and calm set slightly inland.

  9. Make sure you have a ride on the cable car, it's a great experience. ~There is also a very large temple. I think it is Hindue. but not sure if you can go in it.  there is also some kind of big park facing it. And have a trip to Gib. cost about 12 euro's last Sep.

  10. There are some lovely sights in and around benalmadena - the marina is superb for watching the world go by - lots of shops and restaurants, loads of bars along teh beach, superb waterparks, great sealife centre, brilliant zoo in fuengirola, cxrocodile park, Gibraltar, the fairy castle - otehrwise know as castillo de colobares, tivoli world, selwo attraction, cable cars, mijas, the bullring.  Its a great place and you will find so much to do
