Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez has hailed his team’s improvement following their 1-5 victory over Leeds United in the Capital One Cup last night.
Chelsea bounced back from their FIFA Club World Cup final defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Corinthians-c38855 at the weekend with a 1-5 victory over Leeds in the quarter final of the league cup. The Blues had gone down by a goal in the first half, but turned up the heat in the second
half, putting in a 5-star performance which saw them score 5 goals and qualify through to the semi-finals of the competition.
Juan Mata opened the scoring for the visitors, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 adding two more goals to round up the scoring and qualification for the next stages
of the competition.
Speaking to reporters, Benitez was delighted with his team’s performance and believes that they are improving with every passing game. The Spanish was delighted to see his team play attacking football and will be relieved to have won the game after following
a mixed start to his short term stay at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to reporters, Benitez said:
“I thought the performance was fantastic, not just the second half but the first half as well. You can see that in every game the team is a little bit stronger. At half-time, I told the players to keep doing the same things – keep the ball, play a high tempo,
press and when we are in possession pass the ball as quickly as possible.”
“The Leeds keeper did really well. And with the rain we had to adapt to the pitch. But it is just a matter of time and confidence and trying to play the game we wanted to play.”

Swansea had come back to equalize having gone a goal down in the first half.
