Chelsea’s manager, Rafa Benitez has gone on to urge his side to remain focused and to avoid getting complacent, following their very narrow win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079 in the Europa League. The team looked like they were going to win, but they had to wait all the
way until the dying stages of the game to be sure of things.
Having taken the lead, it seemed like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 were on their way to go on and win the game. However, at one point in the game, the referee went on to give Basel a penalty, which seemed rather controversial to say the least, simply because it didn’t seem to
be a foul. However, Basel made the most of the situation as they scored the goal to level things up.
Chelsea then had to go on and wait for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542 to score a goal in the last few second of the game, to make sure that his side went on to win the game at the end of the night.
When talking about the game, and how it turned out at the end of the day, the Blues manager went on to voice his concerns as he was reported to have said: "We had enough chances to score an away goal, but the penalty was a surprise for everyone and that
could have made a difference"
"I couldn't see why it was a penalty. The ball was in the air and it was a very, very strange decision.”
"We know [Basel] is a very good team, who can score goals home and away, so we have to be sure to concentrate.”
"We can't be over confident in the next game but we know that, if we play well, we can beat anyone."
The second leg is going to prove to be rather interesting for Chelsea. The team will be without http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 in the game, following him picking up a yellow card in the game. However, the Blues have more than ample players to fill in for the suspended defender.
All the team needs to do, is to stay focused and they should be able to go on and secure the win.
